Objetive: To determine the relationship between the values of vertebral morphometry and the levels of bone mineral density in asymptomatic postmenopausal patients. Central Military Hospital – Lima. Material and Methods: An observational, analytical, retrospective, crosscorrelational study was carried out, with a total sample of 172 patients evaluated with vertebral morphometry and bone densitometry. The information was obtained through the medical records and the Chi-square test (x ) was used for the bivariate analysis. In addition, the Odds Ratio of Prevalence (ORP) was calculated as a measure of association. Results: The values of vertebral morphometry and bone mineral density levels show a highly significant association p<0.01. In relation to mild VF, normal BMD has a significant positive association p<0.05; ORP: 2.800 [1.085 – 7.225 95% CI], osteopenic BMD shows a highly significant positive association p=0.004; ORP: 1.966 [1.021 – 4.831 95% CI] and osteoporotic BMD is not associated p=0.087; ORP: 0.361 [0.125 – 1.042 95% CI]. With respect to moderate VF, normal BMD determines a significant positive association p=0.028; ORP: 2.121 [1.079 – 4.169 95% CI], osteopenic BMD if positively associated significant p=0.049; ORP: 1.922 [1.449 – 2.895 95% CI] and osteoporotic BMD have a significant positive association p=0.037; ORP: 1.554 [1.292 – 5.052 95% CI]. According to severe VF, normal BMD if positively significant is associated p<0.01; ORP: 1.111 [1.013 – 1.219 95% CI], osteopenic BMD does not determine significant association p=0.183; ORP: 0.961 [0.928 – 0.995 95% CI] and osteoporotic BMD is associated negatively significant p=0.039; ORP: 0.947 [0.901 – 0.993 95% CI]. Conclusions: There is a relationship between vertebral morphometry values and bone mineral density levels in asymptomatic postmenopausal patients. 2
