Objective: To determine if hydrochlorothiazide is associated with the decrease in hip fracture in patients at Belén de Trujillo Hospital, 2010-2018. Material and methods: A retrospective, observational, case-control study was carried out in which 168 patients from the Belén de Trujillo hospital in the areas of internal medicine and traumatology were included, according to selection criteria which were divided into 2 groups: 56 patients treated with a hip fracture and 112 patients treated without a hip fracture during the 2010-2018 period. Results: 168 patients from the Belén de Trujillo hospital, consisting of 56 cases and 112 controls, were found that in 98.2% of hip fracture cases they did not treated with hydrochlorothiazide, and in the case of those who received hydrochlorothiazide alone 1.8% suffered from hip fracture, we observed its significant value of hydrochlorothiazide on hip fracture which is 0.003 (p <0.05)., In addition to having in the OR: 0.084 with an IC: 0.011 - 0.641. Conclusion: Hydrochlorothiazide is associated with the decrease in hip fracture in patients at Belén de Trujillo Hospital
