To know the factors associated with recurrence of superficial bladder cancer in patients treated with BCG after surgery treated at the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray de Trujillo Hospital 2015 - 2018. Material and methods: Observational, analytical, cross-sectional design. The medical records of 89 patients with superficial bladder cancer who were treated with BCG after surgery were reviewed; which were divided into two groups: Recurrence and nonrecurrence; of these, the associated factors divided into three groups were analyzed: Personal factors, BCG treatment factors and tumor factors for which the Chi square test, Cronbach's alpha reliability analysis and multivariate correlation were used. Results: Personal factors: Age, Sex, Body Mass Index, Comorbidities and considering the level of significance of 5%, have a statistically significant association (<0.05) concluding that these factors have a direct and significant association with recurrence; On the other hand, the marital status, degree of instruction, occupation and consumption of tobacco has no significant association with recurrence. Regarding the factors related to BCG treatment: BCG induction treatment, BCG maintenance treatment, BCG reinforcement treatment, waiting time for the start of BCG treatment and considering the level of significance of 5%, it is concluded that there is a statistically significant association on the contrary, toxicity is not statistically associated with recurrence. Finally, in terms of tumor factors, we have the number of tumors, tumor size, cystoscopy findings, cystectomy and recurrent tumor grade; considering the level of significance of 5%, we conclude that the null hypothesis is rejected and therefore these factors are statistically associated with recurrence. Conclusions: The prevalence of recurrence is lower when treated with BCG, the factors: Age. Sex, BMI, comorbidities, induction treatment, maintenance treatment, reinforcement treatment, waiting time for the onset of BCG, number of tumors, tumor size, tumor recurrence time, cystoscopy findings, cystectomy, recurrent tumor grade they are associated with recurrence; while marital status, degree of instruction, occupation, tobacco use, toxicity are not associated with recurrence.
