The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between the socioeconomic level and nutritional status of infants treated in the growth and development clinic of the Jerusalem District Hospital. La Esperanza, 2019. The study was of a correlational descriptive type and cross-sectional; the sample was made up of 140 infants with their mothers. The results obtained with respect to the socioeconomic level were: 71.4% have a higher lower socioeconomic level and 20.7% medium socioeconomic level. With regard to nutritional status, it was found that, according to the weight/height indicator, 92.9% of infants had a normal nutritional status; the height/age indicator 90% had normal height, and the weight/age indicator 95% had nutritional status. Regarding the results of both variables, it was found that the average socioeconomic level according to the weight/height indicator 87.8% had normal nutritional status and 17.2% malnutrition, and in the lower socioeconomic level according to height/age 50% had low height, and the weight/age indicator 50% shows malnutrition. The ratio of both variables was verified by means of the Chi Square statistical test where the Weight/Size indicator had a P value of 0.001, the Size/Age indicator with a P value of 0.000 and Weight/Age indicator with a P value of 0.000.
