Objective: To determine the incidence of co- infection TB-HIV treated at Hospital III- José Cayetano Heredia 2011-2016. Materials and methods. An observational, basic, descriptive study was developed within the HIV-AIDS unit of Hospital III- José Cayetano Heredia. The patient´s records were reviewed and those that met the criteria were included. A data collection form was used for sociodemographic variables, characteristics of the disease, and personal background. Results. The incidence of TB-HIV co-infection was 0.04. Most of the patients (61.46%) were male and the average age was 41.03 years. The patients presented an average disease time of 4 years. Likewise, 53.13% of the population had a CD4 count <200 cel / mm 3 , no patient had a CD4 count >500 cel / mm3. The whole population was study by smear and culture, as for smear microscopy, it was find positive in 73.96% and those that underwent culture were positive in 96.88%. The percentage of patients with MDR TB was 2.8%. The most frequent signs presented were fever, chest pain, and low weight. Regarding comorbidities, chronic kidney failure occurred in 7.29%, diabetes mellitus and neoplasm in 8.22% of patients. Likewise, 71% of the patients presented the pulmonary form of TB. The study patients who were on antiretroviral therapy were 76.04%, the mortality rate was 20.83%. Conclusion. The incidence of TB-HIV co-infection was 0.043 in the Hospital José Cayetano Heredia, 2011-2016.
