To determine the association between risky sexual practices and abnormal vaginal discharge in women of fertile age in Metropolitan Lima. Material and methods: A cross-sectional, analytical study was carried out through the analysis of data from a primary study through the survey of myths and beliefs about vaginal care and its relationship with vaginal infections developed at the Ricardo University School of Medicine. Palma in Lima, Peru in 2019, 235 women of childbearing age from Metropolitan Lima were analyzed. The exposure variable was risky sexual intercourse, the result variable was abnormal vaginal discharge. The logistic association between variables will be prolonged using the Pearson Chi-Square statistical test and multiple regression. Results: Of the total data collected, 116 women presented abnormal vaginal discharge and 119 did not. The mean age was 20.3 years in women with abnormal vaginal discharge and 20.9 years in women without abnormal vaginal discharge. The factors that were associated were the age at which sexual intercourse began (p 0.034), and the non-use of a condom in the last sexual intercourse (p < 0.001). The use of vaginal douches with chemical products was not found to be associated with abnormal vaginal discharge (p=0.680). Conclusions: Risky sexual practices is a factor associated with abnormal vaginal discharge in women of childbearing age in metropolitan Lima.
