presentar absceso residual (OR:2.42; IC95%1.21 - 5.21, p=0,001) y presentar
desarrollar abscesos residuales principalmente el grado I y II
aplicó el “Childbirth Experience Questionnarie” para evaluar la experiencia del parto;
No
Introduction: Obesity is currently one of the major health challenges in developed countries, according to the World Health Organization. Therefore, general surgeons will have to perform different surgical procedures such as appendectomy in patients with obesity with increasing frequency. Objective: To identify whether obesity is an associated risk factor for the development of residual abscess in patients post operated for acute appendicitis by laparoscopic surgery in the period 2019-2022. Materials and methods: We conducted a retrospective, observational, analytical, case-control, retrospective study. Our population consisted of 145 patients operated by laparoscopic appendectomy with residual abscess (case group) and 145 patients without residual abscess (control group), who met the selection criteria. Results: The mean age of patients with residual abscess was 48.10 years, having AHT is .2.12 times higher risk of developing residual abscess (OR:2.12; 95%CI1.12 -2.65, p=0.001), having diabetes is 2. 42 times more at risk of developing residual abscess (OR:2.42; 95%CI1.21 - 5.21, p=0.001) and having diabetes and AHT is 4.79 times more at risk of developing residual abscess (OR:4.79; 95%CI2.23-10.33, p=0.001). patients with grade I obesity were 24.3% and had 1.87 times higher risk of residual abscess (OR: 1.87, 95%CI 1.19-3.93, p=0.002), patients with grade II obesity were 22.7%, thus; having grade II obesity has 4.12 times higher risk of residual abscess in patients operated for acute appendicitis by laparoscopy (OR: 4.12, 95%CI 1.76- 9.82, p=0.015). Conclusions: Obesity is associated with the risk of developing residual abscesses mainly grade I and II Determine the choice of route of delivery in patients treated at the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo, with a history of vaginal delivery and cesarean section. Material y Methods The study design is observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional. The population was made up of 110 women treated in the department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Regional Teaching Hospital of Trujillo, to whom the “Birth Experience Questionnaire” was applied to evaluate the experience of childbirth; and a data collection sheet, to determine which delivery route they would choose based on their experience. Results It was found that 72.7% chose vaginal delivery and 27.3% chose cesarean section. Furthermore, a statistically significant association was found with the level of education (p = 0.01). However, no significant association was found between the choice of delivery route and the birth experience (p = 0.56). In the bivariate analysis, no significant association was found between the choice of delivery route and the negative (p = 0.87) or positive (p = 0.28) experience, but there was a significant association with the level of secondary education. complete (p= 0.01). Conclusions The preferred route of choice for women is vaginal delivery over cesarean section. No statistically significant association was found between the choice of delivery route and the birth experience; however, this choice was significantly affected by the level of education
