Objective: To determine if in patients who had COVID-19 confirmed by antigenic tests and/or PCR, sociodemographic, anthropometric, clinical factors of acute infection and comorbidities are associated with chronic post-COVID-19 syndrome in adult patients. Methods: We conducted an analytical cross-sectional study and interviewed 168 patients with a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection at least 2 months before and who attended the Hospital Elpidio Berovides Pérez in Otuzco during the period between October and December 2021. Results: The clinical characteristics associated with the presence of chronic post-COVID-19 syndrome were AHT (42.59% vs 27.82%; p = 0.008); quantitative BMI (25.32 ± 1.75 vs 24.84 ± 1.55; p = 0.079) and BMI categorized for obesity (5.56% vs 0.88%; p = 0.052) were not significant, but a tendency to be significant was established. The associated index COVID-19 disease history were being hospitalized (48.15% vs. 10.53%; p = 0.001), oxygen requirement (50% vs. 12.28%; p = 0.001) and oxygen dependency (5.56% vs. 0%; p = 0.011). Multivariate analysis through logistic regression identified age and hospitalization as variables independently associated with the presence of Post COVID-19 syndrome. Conclusion: Factors associated with chronic Post COVID-19 Syndrome were HT, hospitalization, oxygen need and dependence.
