The present research work focuses on the proposal of a material requirement plan to reduce inventory costs in the company Megan Soluciones Integrales, dedicated to the manufacture of hydraulic panels. The beginning of the study consists of identifying and classifying all the boards manufactured by the company to determine those with the highest participation through an ABS analysis. Through the documentation and historical compilation of sales for the years 2018-2019, an analysis, evaluation and selection of the best forecast was made in order to project the demand for the next period 2020, the forecast that showed the least error is “trend seasonal “with a total of 81 hydraulic panels. The production plan with the lowest total cost ($ 16,477) corresponds to a constant workforce with two workers and overtime for the months that the demand does not cover. With the aggregate production plan, the master production plan was prepared in weekly periods and subsequently the material requirement plan was designed, with which we determined the period and the quantities needed for each component per week. Finally, the optimal order quantity for materials was determined, which decreased total inventory costs from $ 17,061.57 to $ 11,887.60, equivalent to 30%.
