superiores a 0.999.
The ecological bamboo toothbrush is more effective than the conventional toothbrush in improving dental hygiene in children aged 7 and 9 years. Materials and methods: This experimental study was carried out between the months of March and April 2023 and included a total of 85 students aged 7 and 9 from an educational institution in Víctor Larco, Trujillo. To determine the intra- and inter-rater reliability of the oral clinical measurement, a pilot study was carried out with 30 students to whom the O'Leary index was taken, resulting in Kappa values greater than 0.999. Data collection was carried out using the observational technique, with the sample selection method being simple probabilistic-random, taking the educational institution's student roster as a database. To analyze the results, the Chi square test was used considering a significance level of 5%. Results: The results obtained showed that between the ecological toothbrush and the conventional toothbrush there is a significant difference (p=0.020) in the improvement of oral hygiene in children aged 7 and 9 years, with the ecological toothbrush being more effective. Conclusions: There was a significant difference between the ecological and conventional toothbrush in the improvement of oral hygiene in children after 15 days.
