To determine whether adolescent motherhood is a risk factor for childhood iron deficiency anemia in the Carabamba health center period 2017- 2021. Material and Methods: Observational, analytical, case-control study in 370 children between 6 months and under 5 years of age attended at the Carabamba Health Center during the period 2017-2021. The sample was 185 children with anemia (cases) and 185 children without anemia (controls). Results: The frequency of adolescent motherhood was 37.8% in the cases and 20.5% in the controls, showing a significant association (p<0.05; OR=2.355 CI 95% 1.480-3.746). A significant relationship was found between mother's usual BMI and childhood anemia (p=0.004, p<0.05). No significant relationship was found between childhood iron deficiency anemia and sex (p=0.346, >0.05), number of siblings (p=0.140, p>0.05), marital status of mother (p=0.187, p>0.05), educational level of mother (p=0.656, p>0.05), parity of mother (p=0.904, p>0.05). Conclusions: Adolescent motherhood is a risk factor for childhood iron deficiency anemia in the Carabamba Health Center in the period 2017-2021.
