Abstract: El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo establecer la relación existente entre la
adicción al internet y la agresividad, la muestra estuvo constituida por 94 alumnos
de 3er a 5to año de secundaria de una institución educativa pública de la provincia
de Talara, con edades entre 13 a 17 años. El diseño de estudio fue correlacional
de corte transversal; los instrumentos utilizados fueron el cuestionario de agresión
de Buss y Perry (1992) y el test de adicción al Internet de Young (1998), se tomaron
ambas versiones adaptadas a la realidad regional. Los resultados fueron obtenidos
por medio del análisis estadístico de correlación Tau b de Kendall donde ambas
variables, adicción a internet y agresividad, presentan una correlación positiva
moderada significativa (t=0.421; p<0.05). Así mismo los estudiantes del nivel
secundario demostraron niveles bajos para agresividad mientras que mostraron un
nivel medio para la adicción a internet
The present study aimed to establish the relationship between internet addiction and aggressiveness, the sample consisted of 94 students from 3rd to 5th year of Secondary from a public educational institution in the province of Talara, aged between 13 and 17. The study design was cross-sectional and correlational; the instruments used were the aggression questionnaire by Buss and Perry (1992) and the Internet addiction test by Young (1998), both versions adapted to the regional population were taken. The results were obtained by means of the statistical analysis of Tau b of Kendall correlation where both variables, addiction to internet and aggressiveness, has a significant moderate positive correlation (t = 0.421; p <0.05). Likewise, the students of the secondary level demonstrated low levels for aggressiveness while they showed a medium level for internet addiction
