The research aimed to determine the relationship between emotional dependence and violence in intimate partner relationships in psychology students of a private university in Trujillo, 2021. The study is substantive with a descriptive-correlational design. The sample consisted of 143 university students aged 16 to 25 years. The Emotional Dependence Questionnaire (CDE) adapted by Lecca (2016) and the Dating Violence Questionnaire (CUVINO) adapted by Alayo (2017) were used. The results evidenced that there is a low positive significant correlation (Rho = 0.215**) between emotional dependence and dating violence. Likewise, a low positive significant correlation was found between the dimensions plan modification (Rho = .240**) and borderline expression (Rho = .240**) of emotional dependence and total global violence. It was concluded that the higher the levels of emotional dependence, the higher the levels of violence in intimate partner relationships in psychology students of a private university in Trujillo, 2021.
