To determine if you work in the Intensive Care Unit increases the risk of the presence of pathogenic bacteria on the mobile phones of the health personnel of the Belén de Trujillo hospital during the period July-September 2018. Material and methods: An observational, cross-sectional, analytical, comparative study was carried out in which 106 mobile phones of health personnel were included according to the inclusion criteria of our studied areas by sending the data collection form and taking the sample of mobile phones. For the statistical analysis of qualitative variables according to the design, the chi square test and the type of association were identified using the odds ratio. Results: The variables involved age, gender, length of service, type of telephone, cleaning and occupation did not have a statistically significant association with respect to the isolation of pathogenic bacteria in the mobile phones of health personnel who work in the Intensive Care Unit and in External Clinics. (p> 0.05). The frequency of pathogenic bacteria changed according to the bacterial culture, was positive in (76% -UCI) and (26% -NO ICU). Laboratory in the Intensive Care Unit increases the risk of the presence of pathogenic bacteria Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp., Enterobacteriaceae and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the mobile devices of health personnel (p <0.05). Conclusion: Laboratory in Intensive Care Unit increases the risk of the presence of pathogenic bacteria in the mobile phones of health personnel.
