OBJECTIVE: To determine the existence of an association between negative perception by inmates during a COVID 19 pandemic in Piura. MATERIAL AND METHOD: An observational, cross-sectional, prospective study with the collection of primary data from the sample cohort using the Google Forms virtual platform; prior acceptance of informed consent in inmates of Human Medicine, for self-administered survey collection and data association through analytical statistics with a significance of p <0.05 for interpretation. RESULTS: The average for the general age of the participants was 24.48 (SD: 1.34) years and with an age range with a greater presence between 23 and 25 years, 84.21% of the records (128 responses) mentioned that they did not They were in their original headquarters. 24.34% of the total number of inmates addressed were distributed in Sullana, with the highest percentage present. We will find that there is an association between negative perception scores from moderate-severe ranges for a significant generation for rejection in patient care during a state of pandemic. with a value for p: 0.002 (CI: 0.001-0.045). CONCLUSION: There is an association between negative perception scores in moderate-severe ranges for a significant generation of rejection in patient care during a pandemic state with p value: 0.002 (CI: 0.001-0.045).
