y la hiperémesis gravídica (IC: 95%, OR: 2.12, p=0.021).
gravídica (IC: 95%, OR: 2.06, p=0.032).
Objective: To determine if adolescence is a risk factor for the development of hyperemesis gravidarum. Materials and Methods: An observational, analytical, case-control study was conducted using the medical records of pregnant women treated at the Obstetrics and Gynecology Service of HBT Hospital. The study included a total of 61 cases diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum and 80 controls without this condition. Results: It was identified that 55.19% of all pregnant women were adolescents. Within this group, 67.2% presented hyperemesis gravidarum, while 49.2% of them did not experience this complication. A statistically significant association was established between adolescence and hyperemesis gravidarum (CI: 95%, OR: 5.347, p=0.021). Furthermore, it was observed that being a primigravida was related to a higher risk of developing hyperemesis gravidarum (CI: 95%, OR: 2.06, p=0.032). However, no significant association was found between gynecological history and the development of hyperemesis gravidarum (p=0.086). Conclusions: Adolescence and being a primigravida are risk factors for the development of hyperemesis gravidarum
