To determine the effectiveness of the educational intervention in the level of knowledge about oral health in schoolchildren of the 1st grade of secondary school of the I.E ““Zarumilla““ in times of covid-19. Tumbes, 2021. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Longitudinal, prospective and experimental study. A pre-test and a virtual post-test were carried out to determine the level of knowledge before and after the educational talks in 40 students of the 1st year of secondary school of the Zarumilla I.E. For the analysis of the results, the non parametric t-wilcoxon test was used. RESULTS: In the Pretest of Educational Intervention, the average of the students was 8.1 points, in the posttest the average obtained by the students was 18.5 points, that is, the average increased from the pretest to the posttest by 10.4 points; When applying the Wilcoxon test, a p = 0.00000000494 <0.01 was found, that is, the averages present a highly significant difference. It is observed that before the educational intervention only 12.5% of students presented a level of knowledge of Oral Health Good, but after the educational intervention this percentage rose to 85%, likewise in the pretest or before the educational intervention the 70% of the students presented a Deficient level of oral knowledge and in the post-test or after the educational intervention, no student presented a Deficient level of knowledge CONCLUSIONS: The educational intervention was effective, on the level of knowledge about oral health in schoolchildren of the 1st grade of secondary school of the I.E ““Zarumilla““ . Tumbes, 2021.
