The following work of investigation had as a general objetive; to determine the level of development of children´s self-concept in 5-year-old children from dysfunctional families of the educational institution N° 81015 “Carlos E. Uceda Meza”, Trujillo, Perú, 2020. To achieve this purpose, we proceed to select the sample, which consisted of 33 5- year- old children from initial level and with a simple descriptive design. We used an instrument to collect information, a child self-concept test, made up of four áreas: Autonomy, Confidence, Prysical evolution and School and Social world. The data was organised in a matrix of indicator results in Excel spreadsheets. As a result, we can observe that of the 33 children in the sample; in the Autonomy Dimension, 87.8% have a low level, in the confidence dimension, 100% is on the low level, according to the dimension, physical Edition, 39.4%have a low level and 60.61% of the population reaches a médium level. Finally, in the school and social world dimension, 36.36% have a low level while 63.64% have a médium leve of development. At the leve lof variable Autonomy 12.12% have a médium leve lof autonomy, while 87.7% have a low level of automy. Results that allow us to demonstrate our hypothesis. The leve lof development of children´s self – concept in 5- year – old children from dyfunctional families of E.I N° 81015 “Carlos Uceda Meza”, Trujillo, Perú, 2020, is low.
