to determine if pan-photocoagulation (PPC) with diode laser (532nm) generates alterations in corneal endothelium morphometry of patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy. Methods: quasi-experimental study with online design, in 40 eyes of 31 consecutive patients undergoing PPC at the ““JSU““ Regional Institute of Ophthalmology, period November 2018 to February 2020, who underwent automated specular microscopy before, one hour after and 30 days past the procedure; analyzing the endothelial density, central corneal thickness (GCC), hexagonal percentages and coefficient of variation (CV); as well as clinical findings in the anterior segment. Results: the CV index showed a significant increase in the immediate control (p = 0.001) as well as the CCG (p = 0.000), which reverted after 30 days (p = 0.693 and p = 0.077). There was no difference in cell density or hexagonal index. The most frequent clinical finding was the presence of endothelial pigmentary deposits. Conclusions: PPC generated immediate but transitory alterations in some of the endothelial morphometric parameters, possibly as a physiological response induced by diabetes to the generated stress. Clinical findings in the anterior segment after PPC were minimal.
