The present cross-sectional descriptive correlational research was carried out with the purpose of determining the relationship between the social determinants of health and the prevention of diabetic foot disease in diabetic patients in the medical area of the Hospital Belén - Trujillo, 2021. The sample consisted of 80 patients who met the selection criteria, using the survey technique and two instruments were applied. The results obtained sones that 61.3% of patients diagnosed with diabetic foot have adequate prevention, while 38.8% have inadequate prevention. Likewise, in relation to adequate prevention and social determinants of health, 36.3% of patients with diabetic foot have their own home; 40.0% have an income between 1,300 and 2,480 soles; 37.5% are informed mostly by radio and 38.8% have SIS insurance. Also, 50.0% of the patients with diabetic foot have a medium socioeconomic level; 41.3% are of the adult age group; 55.0% are of mixed race; 30.0% have higher education and 21.3% have a casual and independent work status. Similarly, 56.3% of the patients with diabetic foot have a house made of noble material; 41.3% have mental fatigue; 55.0% do not consume drugs; 60.0% frequent their family; 53.8% go to the pharmacy when they get sick; and 55.0% buy their medicines at the pharmacy. According to the statistical analysis, the p-value was < 0.05. Therefore, it is concluded that there was a relationship between the social determinants of health and the prevention of diabetic foot disease.
