The constant technological innovation and a culture of consumerism means that people want to replace the electrical and electronic devices that they use by more advanced devices, which means that electronic waste increases every year. Currently around 50 million tons of electronic waste are generated globally and unfortunately a big part of these are not managed correctly or completely responsible when these devices reach the end of their useful life. Although the initiative and the concern are born from an European model, in Peru there is also a regulation for the management of these kind of waste, and the qualitative development of our research has led us know how this management is being carried out, how to identify the actors involved and the impact of not treating this electronic waste in the right way. On the other hand, after our research we have also identified some opportunities to improve this and that will be exposed in our recommendations.
