The main purpose of this study was to identify if there is an association between jealousy and unfaithful behavior in a group of psychology students from a private university in Lima. Also, another objective was to study whether there are differences between men and women with regard to unfaithfulness and jealousy. The non-probabilistic sample consisted of 200 volunteer students, 140 women (80%) and 60 men (20%), with oscillating ages between 19 and 30 years old, and an average age of 22 (21.5%), and ED of 2.14. Two instruments were used, the Multidimensional Jealous Inventory (Diaz-Loving; Rivera and Flores, 1989) and the Multidimensional Infidelity Inventory (IMIN) (Romero, Rivera and Díaz-Loving, 2007). A positive hypothesis was raised, which was partially accepted, since jealousy correlated positively with some of the variables of unfaithful behavior, but not with all, for example, Emotional/Pain with Desire for Sexual Infidelity and Desire for Emotional Infidelity, as well as Confidence with Sexual Infidelity, Emotional Infidelity, Intrigue and Anger. Likewise, regarding unfaithful behavior, men scored higher in Desire for Emotional Infidelity and Desire for Sexual Infidelity.
