This research explored, from a psychodynamic framework, the Dance Movement Therapy (DMT), as a contemporary psychotherapeutic practice, which promotes the physical, emotional, cognitive and social integration of the individual. The subjective experience of six Lima women who are in a therapeutic process in DMT and who previously had a verbal therapeutic process is described and discussed. The main reasons for this practice are related to emotional conflicts related to family, physical aspect, decision-making, relationships and anxiety. The results of the interviews are analyzed describing the experiences of the participants to understand the experience of the DMT as a process in which through the movement and the body as a scenario interconnect the emotions, the feelings, the thoughts and the physical aspect.
