The method of excavation with presence of water for foundation of bridges in Peru, caisson of concrete, under its conventional constructive procedure Well foundation has a collapse during its execution, being an aggravating the existence of groundwater, as in the case of the Arequipa region. The present investigation seeks to improve and elaborate a preliminary manual of the constructive procedure of caissons for the foundation of bridges in the coast of the Arequipa region. Additionally, the constructive procedure 'Under the surface' was proposed, based on the construction of concrete caissons in Colombia, constructive system in which it is excavated to then build the caisson walls. From interviews with specialists, we conclude that the approximate range of positive variation considered economic improvement is from 16% to 20% with respect to the direct cost of a conventional construction system. Finally, it was concluded that the 'Under the surface' improvement proposal has an economic optimization of 17.55% with respect to the Well foundation construction procedure and increases 0.88% when considering metallic formwork as a replacement for the wooden formwork, the economic improvement amounting to average of 18.79% as evaluated in the Pampa Blanca and Río Tambo bridges. In addition, the execution time was optimized by 14.29% for the Pampa Blanca bridge and 8.33% for the Río Tambo bridge, which showed that the geometry of the elements is an important factor in measuring the impact of the improvement.
