In this thesis, we investigated the black slag (EAFS) obtained from the steel industry, as waste, for its use as an aggregate material in layers of asserted, as well as the design of this. For this, national and international research on the subject had to be investigated. The academic work analyzed the properties presented by the EAFS, with respect to the requirements established by the Ministry of Transport and Communications. On the other hand, quantify the amounts of heavy metals found in the EAFS, divided into essential and toxic. Finding that, although the slags present the quantities slightly higher than the permissible ranges for agricultural soils, with respect to the quantities of chromium and copper, these can be mitigated by phytoremediation, which makes its use viable. With the favorable results obtained, a stated thickness of 15 cm was obtained based on the minimum requirements of the MTC manuals of unpaved roads. Finally, it was necessary to establish how feasible it is to transport the EAFS to road projects. To do so, we compared the purchase and transportation prices of a conventional aggregate with respect to the transportation of the slag, since these would be priceless when granted by CAASA. An optimum transport radius of 50 km was obtained taking the CAASA steel factory in Pisco as a midpoint. While this radius could be extended, it will depend on the location of the road project, as well as the distance from the nearest conventional supplier or quarry.
