Currently, Peruvian television has entertainment as one of its central axes, which is reflected in journalism, with leisure segments and hybrid magazine-style programs that mix humor with the transmission of information. These are the programs that use hidden cameras, a resource known as “ampay“, to generate news content, capturing famous people in various compromising situations, with the purpose of centering an agenda around the case that invites moral criticism between the hosts and the viewing public. The objective of this work is to know in depth the peculiarities of the use of the ampay in Peruvian entertainment journalism, using the case of footballer Jefferson Farfán and singer Yahaira Plasencia, who were captured by hidden cameras in 2015 and, consequently, had to formalize their relationship, as an example to narrate the consequences and repercussions that this can bring in the professional careers of public figures.
