Objective: To assess whether there is a difference in work-life balance dissatisfaction among doctors and nurses in health establishments in Peru, 2016. Material and methods: A cross-sectional analytical study was conducted. A secondary analysis was carried out with the database of the “ Encuesta Nacional de Satisfacción de Usuarios del Aseguramiento Universal en Salud 2016 “ (ENSUSALUD 2016), which includes doctors and nurses from all over Peru. The instrument used was questionnaire N ° 2, which includes the tool to measure DWLB among the other variables. Correction of variance was performed with the “svy“ command, then crude and adjusted prevalence ratios (PR and PRa) were calculated with their 95% confidence intervals (95% CI) using Poisson regression. Results: Of the 5049 participants, 62.7% were women, with a mean age of 44 years (ie: ± 11) and 56.8% were nurses. Physicians had a higher prevalence of IBTV compared to nurses (31.1% vs 16.3%, p <0.001). In the multiple regression it was found that physicians were more likely to develop DWLB regarding nurses (RPa: 1.44, 95% CI: 1.16 to 1.79). Both doctors and nurses associated the DWLB with working more than 48 hours per week ─ compared to those who work ≤36 hours─ (PRa: 3.79, 95%CI: 2.22-6.47 | PRa: 1.69; 95%CI: 1.00-2.87). Conclusion: Physicians had higher DWLB than nurses. One factor associated with IBTV was the weekly work hours. It is necessary to keep a follow-up of the DWLB in the professionals, since an indicator of well-being.
