This research project proposes a statistical model of the main business sectors of Virtual Reality, in order to provide to all those businesses oriented to the development of applications of Virtual Reality a structured base in terms of commercial value and market adoption. In addition, the device taxonomy is proposed, which is categorized and hierarchized based on the characteristics and utilities of each device. This in order to provide the user with a better understanding of the different types of Virtual Reality devices available in the market and also they know which device to use according to the need they wish to cover in a certain sector. Likewise, as a continuity plan for the trend of the development of Virtual Reality projects, 22 projects are proposed based on the need of the School of Systems Engineering and Computing of UPC and the business sector that they require, supporting us with the information obtained from the statistical model of sectors and the taxonomy of Virtual Reality devices.
