This paper describes the implementation of improvement proposals in the production line of a metal-mechanic company, dedicated to the manufacture of anti-abrasive products, which has as its main problem the untimely deliveries of production orders. The main reasons why these deliveries are occurring at the wrong time are in greater percentage caused by the presence of reprocessing in the production line, the most influential being the defects presented in the welding process. For this reason, the analysis of influential variables in the process was carried out using the ANOVA analysis of variance in order to determine the degree of existing correlation and the dependence they have on the adverse effects of welding. Once the degree of correlation of the most influential variable on the defects was found, the use of Lean tools and method engineering as a solution was proposed; being more specific, the Poka Yoke tool, as an anti-error system for controlling the variation of the variable; the AMEF, as part of the analysis of specific solutions; and method engineering to visually standardize procedures, control the process, and ease the operational understanding, based on material engineering calculations, time study for samples, international welding standards, and approved scientific articles. The results expected after the implementation will be reflected in the reduction of queues in the production line caused by the reprocessing of defective products from 52% to 5%. This will generate an improvement in productivity from 48% to 95%.
