The objective of the present investigation is to propose the design of a masonry wall, a masonry wall with a terramesh system and a masonry wall with gabions, in order to select the most viable alternative to protect the most critical slope that exists between the Talavera and Libertadores bridges in the area of El Agustino. As a first step, a topographic survey was carried out in the study area. Then the geological and geotechnical studies were carried out to obtain the parameters of soil resistance. Then, the annual maximum instantaneous flows were collected for different return periods, issued by the National Water Authority in a hydrological study of the Rímac river basin. Likewise, the Road, Hydrology, Hydraulics and Drainage Manual of the Ministry of Transport and Communications served to obtain the design flows, these were necessary to calculate the depth of scour, by means of the theory of Lischtvan-Lebediev. To obtain the most viable design alternative, a comparative analysis was carried out, where three relevant aspects were evaluated: technical evaluation, economic evaluation and management-construction. To evaluate the slope and wall stability, the SLIDE and GEO5 program was used. Then a budget was made for each proposal. Finally, engineers specialized in this type of project were interviewed to define, by means of a comparison and evaluation of each alternative, that the masonry wall with the terramesh system is the most viable alternative so that in the future it can be carried out.
