The present investigation will demostrate if the main factor that causes millennials turnover, aged between 20 – 35 years old, is non-remunerative. To do so, this study evaluated millennials preferences in emotional factors (such as work environment, recognition, responsability in a position, flexibility of working hours, career plan, foreign job opportunities, training) over the salary they could get if they chose to change jobs. Information was gotten through qualitative approach, highlighting the surveys completed by millennials who work for big companies in Lima and the interviews conducted with leading authorities on Human Resources from different sectors such as telecommunications, banking, consumer goods and agro-industrial. Likewise, the present study adopts a descriptive approach because it allows to elaborate on millennials features at work and their motivations to leave a job. The results revealed that the main factor that causes millennials turnover from big companies in Lima is career plan, followed by a better salary and work environment. Furthermore, this work offers conclusions about this generation at work and gives recommendations to organizations, so that they can develop strategies to generate loyalty and retain this generation of workers.
