The present work is a proposal for the implementation of a IT Strategic Demand Management Model for a Mining Company. Hochschild Mining plc is the company selected for the development of the proposal. It is a leading underground precious metals producer. After the fall in the price of metals in 2013, the company applied a policy of savings and reduction of investment and expenses, including TI. In 2016, the prices of metals began to improve, however, the company kept the policy of saving and cost optimization, therefore, the budget of TI remained low and the impact of its projects was for support and not to generate value aggregate. By 2019, the company plans to invest in exploration projects and analyze innovative projects with a view to digital transformation. This work seeks that IT contributes to the strategic objectives of the company and in the analysis of innovative projects, with a methodology of selection of strategic projects based on the methodologies of “IT Strategic Demand Management Model”, by Igor Aguilar and the “ISO 38500”, that is an international standard for the governance of TI on innovation issues. In the problem will be evaluated what is the budget of other companies in the sector for the area of TI, and which part of this budget is for investment projects. It will also review how many projects are aligned to the strategic objectives of the company with a high, medium and low impact. In addition, we will analyze the projects that are canceled and the projects that were completed, but that are not used by the applicant areas. Finally, the present work must solve the current problem of project selection, improving its productivity and giving a role to the TI area of added value and not only of support for the company.
