The purpose of this descriptive correlational research was to analyze the relationship between Emotional Regulation and Psychological Wellbeing in volunteers from Lima hospitals, belonging to three different programs that provide these services. A total of 100 volunteers (77% female) between 18 and 63 years old (M = 29, SD = 10.48) were evaluated. They were applied the Emotional Regulation Questionnaire adapted for Peru ERQ-P (Gargurevich & Matos, 2010), and the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale (Díaz et al., 2006), respectively. The results found reflected negative and significant relationships between the Emotional Suppression dimension of the variable Emotional Regulation and the Personal Relations dimensions (r = -.55, p <.01), Autonomy / Personal Growth (r = -.55, p <.01), Domain of the Environment (r = -42, p <.01) and Purpose in Life (r = -23, p <.01) of the Psychological Welfare variable. While for the Cognitive Reevaluation dimension of the variable Emotional Regulation only a positive and significant relationship was found with Purpose in Life (r = .17, p <.01). It is concluded that in the sample of volunteers the suppression of emotions is associated with a lower perception of psychological well-being. The implications of the results are discussed.
