The target of this project is to optimize the working methods of a textile company of elastic narrow fabric to improve its productivity. To determine the main problem were applied control tools for the solution of problems in both qualitative for example Pareto, Tree diagram of double branching; and quantitative such as time and methods studies in the area of production. The main problem is that only the production of elastic narrow fabric in morning shift does not meet the monthly demand. Therefore, they had the need to increase the amount of night shifts, consequently resulting in increased production costs in the last years. According to the results, it was proposed to implement a methodology based on the application of engineering tools to optimize working methods, in addition to establishing the optimal assignation of operator-machine using a statistical mathematical model of distribution of the binomial probability. By implementing the proposed improvements, the productivity was positively affected from 1.72 to 1.81 with a percentage increase of 5.4%, what means an increase of the production volume in the morning shift from 2,490,573 m to 3,040,427 m, decreasing the amount of night shifts monthly from 20 a 10 and the number of machines to produce an article from 105 to 14 to meet average monthly demand of 3,335,000 m. In this way it was possible to increase the profit margin on S /. 26, 705.91 Monthly.
