This study addressed the scope of fluorodeoxyglucose cancer detection by positron emission tomography. The objective was to determine the influence FDG PET CT in the diagnosis results and early detection of malignancy with greater sensitivity and specify than CT test at the National Hospital Edgardo Rebagliati Martins HNERM. The research design corresponded to the pre experimental design applied. The study population was composed of patients with oncological table were treated in the PET CT Edgardo Rebagliati Martins National Hospital, between January 2015 to December 2015. The final took 123 patients into account in establishing migration Stadium TC according FDG PET / CT and. The data collection technique was the observation data (medical records), with its instrument the observation sheet. The data were processed statistically with the SPSS program or V.21. From the study it was concluded that FDG PET CT directly influences the results of diagnosis_and_early detection of malignancy with greater sensitivity and specificaty than CT test in the HNERM.
