Significant differences were concluded in the increase in biomass and increase in the production of secondary metabolites with explants of Stevia rebaudiana var.Criolla and Eirete that were cultivated in different basal media treatments (“A”, “B”, “C”). The biomass growth was verified by cimparing the weekly wightd of the calluses, wich stopped at week 7 to later start the necrosis process. In the case of secondary metabolites, the concentrations of flavonoids and phenols were obtained using the calibration curves and the spectrophotometry results of each treatment at different wavelengths. The significant differences resulted from the concentrations of the metabolites, demonstrating the efficiency of the auxin and cytokinin trearments.
