Descriptive, prospective, correlational, not experimental, cross-sectional study aimed at determining aspects of decision making in the choice of contraceptive methods with gender equity in 140 users interviewed. Results: The general characteristics of the study population are 18-35 years old, high school degree, cohabiting, residence in rural area; They have one to two children, have health insurance, Catholic religion, contraceptive methods used are injectable quarterly, pills, use mobility to go to the health, the time it takes is 15 to 30 min, 30% of health professionals who offer birth control are not fluent in Quechua, 55% report that if they explained about the advantages and disadvantages, 60% say they did not understand about each of them and 56% said that if they explained about all contraception, 62% report that there is privacy from other people at the time of care, and 70% report that there is privacy regarding infrastructure, 53% use the desired contraceptive method, 38.6% are not satisfied with the care office, 67% had no influence on the use of a method of contraception, 44% do not have beliefs or myths about contraceptive methods, 51.4% of users make the decision to use a contraceptive method, 92.9% said their partner if known use, 90% come alone. Conclusions: Issues related to decision making in the choice of contraceptive methods with gender equality in the health center of Ollantaytambo, are the aspects of health and socio-cultural aspects except family influence.
