Background: Atopic dermatitis is a chronic pruritic skin disease that affects the quality of life of the child and the parents, determining the perinatal clinical-epidemiological characteristics is important because it provides a better strategy to diagnose and control the disease. Methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional study. A sample of infants with a diagnosis of atopic dermatitis will be taken as a result of the visit to the outpatient clinic of pediatrics and healthy child of Adolfo Guevara Velasco Hospital, EsSalud - Cusco, 2019. Results: 170 infants were studied. Among the prenatal clinical - epidemiological characteristics, the most outstanding are the exposure with pets during the prenatal period 39.4% CI 95% [32.1% - 46.8%], the renovation and / or painting of the home 24.1% CI 95% [17.7% - 30.5%]. The family history of atopy of the mother have higher percentages than those of the father. Spontaneous vaginal delivery (55.3%). The recent consumption of paracetamol by the infant 61.2% CI 95% [53.9% - 68.5%] is the most important postnatal characteristic, only 42.4% CI 95% [34.9% - 49.8%] exclusively consumes breast milk, therefore, the The remaining percentage uses milk formulas. Conclusions: The prenatal clinical - epidemiological characteristics of atopic dermatitis with a higher percentage correspond to the exposure to pets. Mothers with a family history of atopy of atopy are predominant with respect to the parents' family history of atopy. Spontaneous vaginal delivery is the most frequent.
