Delinquency is the legal situation in which an obligor is in delay in the fulfillment of an obligation, mainly with the delay in the payment of a demandable debt of any kind that this is In banking, the ratio of delinquency is a data that Is calculated and followed fairly by analysts and investors, and it is the relationship between the amount of loans and credits considered as delinquent at the end of the period under study on the total credits granted. (López Domínguez). In a banking agency, the delinquency is measured as the percentage of the backlog to the total of direct loans. The Microeconomic Factors of Delinquency; They are the set of elements that affect the behavior of the delinquency of the loan portfolio of a banking institution that are related to the management policies and strategies of market participation of each entity. The microeconomic factors that affect late payments are credit policies, company efficiency in risk management, business diversification, operational efficiency, risk management and credit portfolio (Saurina, 1998). The Caja Municipal de Ahorro y Crédito Cusco S.A. Is a public company with legal personality of private law, created under the scope of Decree Law No. 23039 of May 14, 1980, with operating authorization by Resolution S.B.S. N ° 218-88 of March 22, 1988, carries out its operations under the scope of D.S. No. 26702, General Law of the Insurance and Organic System of the S.B.S., by the resolutions and directives of the Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and AFP., And the Central Reserve Bank of Peru, its Bylaws, General Law of Companies. (Cuzco, 2014) Over the years, this entity has been affected by poorly managed delinquency rates, reducing its liquidity, and compromising the long-term viability of the institution. The present research intends to know the behavior of the microeconomic factors of the delinquency described and how these affect to the increase of the delinquency in the Municipal Savings and Credit Section Cusco.
