The present qualitative - ethnographic research proposes to describe the carnival customs and traditions of the eve, central day and farewell in the populated center of Llicllatambo, Chavinillo district - Yarowilca-Huánuco province, in order to preserve this local heritage. The field study was carried out at the Llicllatambo Town Center. To collect data, observation and interview techniques were used, counting on it, with the collaboration and support of local residents. The population universe was constituted by former authorities, dancers, butlers, musicians and visitors and the sample universe was determined according to the socio-structural criteria. As a result of this research work we have collected information on the carnival customs and traditions of the eve, central day and farewell in the populated center of Llicllatambo, as well as, it was possible to transcribe and translate the collected melodies into scores. The study concludes by pointing out that carnival customs and traditions in the populated center of Llicllatambo, are a cultural expression, which fits into the characterization of Andean carnival, in which it externalizes and affirms its social and political organization rather than questioning or denying it, through From this holiday, the community members strengthen their identity and their local culture and create true tradition in the town through their celebrations.
