Introduction: Within the IPRESS III, the departments of internal medicine, intensive care unit, gynecology, and surgery encounter a significant number of adult and elderly patients with various chronic and non-chronic conditions. These patients have extended hospital stays and are at risk of developing pressure ulcers. In Peru, research indicates a prevalence rate ranging from 11.4% to 16%. Nutrition is crucial for maintaining healthy skin and tissues and promoting tissue healing in the treatment of pressure ulcers. The 2014 National Pressure Ulcer Consensus Conference established that patients with malnutrition and several comorbidities had a higher propensity to develop pressure ulcers. Objective: Establish the relationship between nutritional status and pressure ulcers in patients of an IPRESS III-1 in Peru, 2022. Materials and methods: The study is transversal, correlational, prospective and observational. The dependent variable is pressure ulcers, being qualitative and nominal in nature. For this purpose, 142 people will be selected by means of a non-random sampling, we will apply the validated questionnaire (MNA), and the data obtained will be included in a database, Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. We will use the statistical package SPSS v.27. Results: A test significance value of 0.003 was found, indicating a statistically significant association between nutritional status and the occurrence and progression of pressure ulcers. The data revealed that males had the highest prevalence of pressure ulcers (73.9%), individuals aged 60 years and older were the most affected age group (58.5%), and a significant proportion of patients (65.5%) had low levels of albumin. Conclusions: A strong correlation exists between the nutritional condition and the occurrence of pressure ulcers in an IPRESS III-1 of Peru in the year 2022.
