The following research entitled in vitro antibacterial effect of Punica granatum extract on Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, aimed at evaluating the in vitro antibacterial effect of Punica granatum extract on strains of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans. Using as materials and methods, thirteen Petri dishes inoculated with Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, for each of the four concentrations of the hydroalcoholic extract of pomegranate (40%, 50%, 70% and 90%), and distilled water as a negative target. The effect was evaluated by inoculating the strains of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans in Petri dishes with 10 ml of Blood Agar Base, and placing the different concentrations of the pomegranate extract with a micropipette in each Petri dish, using the bell technique, observing and measuring the halos of inhibition at 24, 48 and 72 hours. The results showed that concentrations greater than 50% had a greater antibacterial effect. It concluded that when the exposure time is 24 hours, the best results of the inhibition halo are obtained, with an average value of 21.30 millimeters. It also showed that the minimum inhibitory concentration is registered for the 50% concentration of Punica granatum extract and the best diameter of the inhibition halo is observed at 24 hours with a concentration of Punica granatum extract of 90%.
