This paper includes the agronomic management to produce hybrid seed of zucchini Cucurbita pepo under the conditions in Villacurí, Ica. For this purpose, a density of 2.9 plants/m2 (29,000 plants) in the female parental and 4 plants/m2 in the male parental is used. Each activity is described starting with the importation of the female and male lines, followed by the preparation of the soil and net houses, sowing, transplanting, hybridization, harvesting, post-harvesting and export of hybrid seed. Each of these activities has key points to ensure the requested quality and yield of hybrid seed. The main objective of this paper is to identify the critical stage of the process in the production of hybrid squash seed, where it was identified that the greatest risk in the production of hybrid seed occurs during pollination, since it is at this stage that the genetic quality of the variety to be produced is ensured. While in the other stages of production it is important to ensure the traceability of the lines to be produced.
