The study was carried out on an area of 531.45 ha of the Permanent Production Forest, located in the province of Padre Abad, department of Ucayali, concessioned by the State under the modality of forest concession for timber purposes. The techniques for the management of natural humid tropical forests in Peru, and of the eight countries that make up the Amazon basin and have Bh-T are concentrated in the planning and execution of exploitation activities; The techniques for evaluating and determining the timber potential of natural forests “desirable on overhang“ and their subsequent silvicultural treatment after harvest are little known. In this context, this research aims to apply diagnostic sampling, ecological sampling and remanence to determine the capacity of a remaining natural forest “forest concessioned by the forestry company VON HUMBOLDT FOREST SAC.“ to produce lumber. The main results show 255 commercial trees ha, of which 15 trees are ready for immediate harvest because they are trees greater than 40 cm DBH. The genus (Virola sp) was the species with the highest abundance and dominance in the secondary forest (IVI 26.56) and the families with the highest abundance were MORACEAE and FABACEAE. Due to the projection of the national wood market, it is expected that wood would be in demand for structures, furniture, sleepers and prefabricated houses, which shows its economic sustainability. The cost of diagnostic, silvicultural and remanence sampling per hectare ranges from S /. 27.00 and 30.00 soles ha, which is why it constitutes highly affordable measurement and evaluation techniques for small owners of natural tropical humid forests in Peru.
