The application method is decisive to achieve efficient control of pests. The present research aimed to evaluate the influence of the expression of the dose (per hectare and concentration), the application method (pneumatic-electrostatic and non-electrostatic hydropneumatic) and the application rate (low, intermediate and high) on the deposit of Abamectin and the control of Panonychus citri in the Satsuma Okitsu mandarin crop. The study was carried out in a commercial field located in the province of Chincha, Ica Region. Two application teams were used, an electrostatic pneumatic sprayer and a non-electrostatic hydraulic sprayer, with air assistance. Both equipments were regulated in order to apply the rates of 100, 200 and 300 L ha-1 for the electrostatic application and 1,500; 2,000 and 3,000 L ha-1 for non-electrostatic application. To evaluate the Abamectin deposit, leaf samples were collected from the treated trees, immediately after application, which were analyzed by chromatographic technique. The evaluation of the P. citri population was carried out one day before the application of the acaricide and 3, 7, 10 and 14 days after the chemical treatment was carried out. The highest deposit of Abamectin in the mandarin leaves was obtained with the dose expressed in quantity of product per hectare, using the non-electrostatic hydropneumatic application method (conventional method) and using the application rate based on the volume of the tree canopy. (Tree Row Volume). The control of the different development stages of P. citri was similar with the two forms of dose expression (per hectare and per concentration) and with the two spraying methods (electrostatic and conventional). The factors that influenced the deposition of Abamectin and the control of P. citri are discussed in the present work.
