The present work aims to characterize the elements that intervene in the construction of local perception about Sustainable Tourism in two Pervian communities: Infierno in Madre de dios and Llachón in Puno, then compare them recongnizing the sustainability conditions in the present changing and uncertainty context. The main goal tended to contribute with a tool to identify the scenary that tourism local percepction building draws (control, chanche or social conflict). At the same time, this tool could help with planning and desicions making processes. The methodological process has started with the identification of two scenaries with sustainable tourism proyects. The first one Infierno Native Comunity in Madre de Dios which has an Ecotourism proyect and the second one Llachón Rural Comunity in Puno, which has a Rural Comunity Tourism proyect. Both scenaries are located in National Reserve’s buffer zone: Tambopata and Titicaca respectively. Then the process continued with population consults in order to ask about their perceptions. The research dynamcs had let to know the opinion people in both communities have about tourism. This way it was posible to identify and compare communities’ valuations and expectations. To get results, there were three steps. Firstly, an observation process to get visual information since a sustainable perspective, Secondly, interviews to value and weigh the observated items. Finally, questionnaires were applied to tourism involucrated and no involucrated people in each community. The collected data has been analyzed throw cuantitative and cualitative analisys acording to the proposed goals. The results make it posible to affirm that both sustinable tourism modalities are well regarded by local people who at the same time perceive the activity as an element that contributes to environmental and local cultural manifestations conservation as well as it allows to dinamyze the local economy, even if the overstimating tourism activity risk is latent due to the uncertainties identify in the environmental, economic and social dimensions.
