Potato and corn production worldwide are considered one of the ten crops with the highest production globally. Crops such as corn and potatoes in Peruvian agriculture face certain problems and factors that influence production performance. The present study seeks to identify which factors determine the yield of potato and corn production in the Cusco region for the period 2017-2020. The present research work was developed through a quantitative approach, the design of the research study is non-experimental, it presents an explanatory scope because it analyzes and explains how the independent variables affect the production yield of the crops studied. The econometric model of Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) was applied, used for both groups (potato and corn), based on cross-sectional grouped data. Information is available for 521 agricultural units dedicated to potato production and 557 for maize production. The results of the study show that three of the four factors considered for the study significantly determine the yield of potato and maize crops. Finally, it is concluded that reservoir technology, irrigation and certified seed are determinants of maize yields, while land tenure, use of reservoir irrigation technology and access to credit are determinants of potato yields.
