This research was carried out with the objective of identifying the main phytopathogenic nematodes associated with persimmon cultivation (Diospyros kaki L.f) in the central coast of Peru. To carry out the identification, the research was divided into two phases: field phase and laboratory phase. In the field phase, 28 root and soil samples were sampled from one greenhouse and nine farms in Huaura, Huaral and Cañete provinces of the Lima region. The laboratory phase was developed in the Nematology Laboratory of the National Agrarian University La Molina (UNALM) in which the presence of seven genera was determined: Tylenchulus sp. , Helicotylenchus sp., Meloidogyne sp., Rotylenchulus sp., Paratylenchus sp., Scutellonema sp. and Tylenchorhynchus sp. The identification of these seven genera was at a morphological level using specific taxonomic keys with the exception of the genus Meloidogyne in which the perineal sections of the females were analyzed . Within these genera, it was determined that the species of phytopathogenic nematodes with the highest incidence were Tylenchulus semipenetrans, Helicotylenchus dihystera, Meloidogyne incognita and Meloidogyne javanica. Being Tylenchulus semipenetrans the specie with the highest incidence (54%) in soil and root samples and one of the most important species because its population could be correlated with the symptoms of persimmon as well as Meloidogyne incognita and Meloidogyne javanica since nodulations were observed in a grade four according to the severity scale proposed by Taylor and Sasser (1983) in the roots.
