This research presents a spatial-temporal trend analysis of climate aggressiveness in the Inter-Andean region of Ecuador for a period of 47 years (1968-2014). Homogeneous zones of monthly precipitation were determined using the k-means method and the regional vector method. Precipitation variation and sea surface temperature anomalies were performed by covariance analysis. The study of climatic aggressiveness by means of the Fournier index, modified Fournier and Precipitation Concentration index and the analysis of trends by means of the Mann-Kendall test. The results allowed to identify fourteen predominant homogeneous regions, the first four located in the western foothills, areas with great influence of ENSO and prone to erosion. Five regions located in the Andean valleys and six regions in the eastern foothills, where the influence of ENSO and aggressiveness is minimal. The greater the longitudinal gradient, the greater the seasonality of rainfall. The central zone of the Andes of Ecuador presents tendencies to the increase of annual precipitation and decrease in the south central zone, due to the fact that the precipitation will be concentrated in a reduced number of months and on the contrary a very low amount of precipitation can be falling in a greater number of months, causing periods of drought and floods respectively.
