The chemical control of pests and diseases has advantages such as availability, rapid action and ease of application, however, the most important disadvantage is the contamination by pesticide residues in the soil, air and water, causing environmental impact and health problems. in animals and humans. Biological control, on the other hand, offers to use predators, parasites, microorganisms and natural extracts that can be used to improve the health and growth of plants. In the study carried out, the effect of growth-promoting microorganisms and their metabolites in strawberry and cherry tomato was analyzed to control the pathogenic fungus Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, which attacks various species including ornamental and horticultural plants, causing deficiency in density and yield. For this reason, the use of microorganisms that promote plant growth and that serve as disease biocontrollers turns out to be a valuable alternative because they avoid contamination caused by agrochemicals and therefore the risk to health. Both in the strawberry and Cherry tomato trials, treatments with Bacillus Trujbac02.32, the biomass-metabolite of Bacillus Icbac2.1 and Rhizophagus intraradices were used, both in simple inoculation and in coinoculation, in comparison with the chemical fungicides used, obtaining that in the case of strawberries, obtained better results Rhizophagus intraradices and Bacillus against the pathogenic fungus (2.93g and 2.86g respectively) in terms of total dry weight of the plant compared to the chemical fungicide (0.91g) and related to the evaluation of the disease obtained R. intraradices as the best treatment; In the case of tomato, the Bacillus and biomass-metabolite interaction (5.10g) obtained a better result compared to the chemical agent (3.17g) and in terms of disease evaluation, the R. intraradices, biomass-metabolite and Bacillus interaction stood out. In both crops, the efficient biocontrol effect against the pathogenic fungus was demonstrated.
